I have included a number of excerpts of recent recording sessions. I hope you enjoy the music!

Stella by Starlight
(4.1MB)

This is a solo bass rendition of this classic jazz standard.

Remix (8.1MB)

This is an improvisation on a standard tune which guitarist Matthew Dorko skillfully remixed and edited. It features Stan Strickland, an incredible musician and a wonderful person playing brilliant saxophone and the aforementioned Matthew doing his dynamic and electrifying 'thing' on a beautifully amplified acoustic guitar. I relish every opportunity I have to play with these fantastic musicians..

Well You Needn't
(2.7MB)

A solo bass version of this well known Thelonious Monk tune.

I Hear A Rhapsody
(5.2MB)

This is the 'one-and-only' Harvey Diamond playing this standard with the wonderfully tasteful, sensitive and groovin' Scott Goulding on drums, and (of course) yours truly on bass...  I play often with this trio, it's a special thing for me to do music with Harvey and Scott. We've worked together for a long time; they play so artfully, with a really strong and distinctive approach to the music...

Peri's Scope
(7MB)

This session was a spontaneous gathering of musicians at my friend  Ben Schwendener's studio. (Ben is the pianist on the recording...) Garrison Fewell, another colleague and friend who is an internationally renowned guitarist and composer was entertaining two musicians from Italy, Niko Gori and Pierro Borri  with whom he had worked  over the years. They were in Boston for a few days as part of an east coast trip. I set up this session to play a little bit with them during their visit. We had a wonderful time! I had played with Pierro twenty or more years ago when he was last in Boston. As you can hear, Niko is a phenomenal clarinetist. It was a thrill to play with both of them!

Relaxin' At Camarillo
(5.4MB)

Again Harvey Diamond on piano and Scott Goulding on drums. This is a Charlie Parker blues that Harvey loves to play. As you can hear, he plays incredibly on the tune, and Scott plays some beautiful choruses as well.
